Solar and wind in Limerick: what to know
Solar in Limerick
Modern panels generate from daylight, not just direct sun, and long summer evenings in the west make solar well worthwhile in Limerick.
Wind on open ground
Open, elevated sites along the Shannon estuary and the uplands in the west of the county can suit a turbine. Sheltered sites are usually better with solar, and we survey before recommending either.
Farms and rural businesses
Dairy farms across Limerick have large shed roofs that suit solar, and TAMS adds a 60% grant for farmers.
