Homes: SEAI solar PV grant
For homes built and occupied before 2025. The grant is paid after installation by an SEAI-registered installer.

Enhanced grant: up to €9,000
Homes on certain social welfare payments may qualify for up to €8,400 towards solar PV plus €600 for a battery. We’ll check if you’re eligible at survey.
Businesses: new SEAI non-domestic grant
New applications from 6 October 2026 to 6 July 2027. Paid at the band below or 45% of the system cost, whichever is lower. Maximum €325,200.

Farms: TAMS 3 and tax relief
TAMS 3 solar
60% grant on up to €90,000 of eligible investment, for systems up to 62kW. Applications run in tranches through the Department of Agriculture.
ACA tax write-off
Accelerated Capital Allowances let companies write off 100% of qualifying energy equipment against profits in year one. Check with your accountant.
Wind turbine grants
There is currently no SEAI grant for domestic wind turbines. Businesses may be able to claim the ACA write-off, and a solar and wind hybrid can still use the solar grant for the solar part.

Do I apply for the grant myself?
You apply online with SEAI before work starts, and we help you every step of the way. We handle the technical paperwork after installation.
Can I get the grant if my house was built in 2025?
No. The domestic solar grant is for homes built and occupied before 2025.
When is the grant paid?
After the system is installed, registered and inspected (if selected). You pay the installer, then SEAI pays the grant to you.
Can I combine the business grant with ACA?
Companies can usually claim ACA on the amount they pay after the grant. Check with your accountant.
Do grant amounts change?
Yes, SEAI updates them from time to time. We always check the current rates before quoting.
