Solar and wind in Kilkenny: what to know
Solar in Kilkenny
The south-east is the sunniest corner of Ireland, which makes Kilkenny roofs ideal for solar.
Wind on open ground
Open, elevated sites on the Castlecomer plateau and other open upland can suit a turbine. Sheltered sites are usually better with solar, and we survey before recommending either.
Farms and rural businesses
Dairy and tillage farms across Kilkenny have large shed roofs that suit solar, and TAMS adds a 60% grant for farmers.
